Keyword research methods have evolved in concert with more intelligent search engines and changing user preferences. Since Google launched their Hummingbird algorithm in 2013, their search engine is now operating largely on the basis of semantic search. A slow-loading website not only tests the patience of your visitors, but also risks a high bounce rate because of a significantly worse user experience. If you're new to search engine optimization and website marketing, you might have heard words like "web crawler", "search engine robot", or "search engine spider". All of these words refer to the same thing. If your web pages answer web crawlers correctly, they will get better rankings on search engines. Usually, companies do not understand the importance of a newsletter. If it is used properly, the benefits can be great. Publishing a newsletter will increase attention and awareness of your readers or clients. With quality and interesting content, you increase the probability of sharing it, thereby increasing traffic and the number of backlinks. It’s a fact that longer load times mean higher bounce rates and a significantly worse user experience. Many studies conclusively show that longer loading times can lead to significantly lower sales and search engines take the loading times of websites or blogs very seriously.

Are you getting enough regular inquiries and sales?

It’s the number one thing you’ll be working on when you’re trying to improve mobile SEO: performance. In this case, performance almost entirely boils down to site speed. It’s a given: the faster your site is, the happier your users will be. Organic search is a powerful channel for getting new customers, but SEO isn’t a one-time investment, and it won’t magically fix your marketing challenges. Generally speaking, the more QUALITY websites that link to you, the better. More website links bring more traffic, and that helps boost your web traffic. More importantly, Google counts every link to your website as a vote of sorts. If you get a lot of good “votes” from other relevant and reputable websites, Google will reward you with higher rankings in the search engine results and you’ll get even more visibility and traffic. Google generates far more traffic than any of the other search engines, including Bing(Microsoft), Yahoo and all the other search engines combined, so being high on the Google search engine results is what it’s all about! If you’re a business, it may be a good idea to start a blog on your website. Not only will this keep your site up-to-date with fresh content and encourage repeat visits (and increase the frequency of search engine crawlers), but also show that you’re a relevant, trustworthy business. While an exact-match domain can still rank as well as a traditional domain, they are at a higher risk for being marked as spam and are viewed as being less trustworthy.

Content Links Are King — Good Writers Are Sorcerers

Create profiles for your business (and include a link to your website) on major directory sites such as Google My Business, Yelp, Angie’s List, Yellow Pages, and other listing resources associated with your industry. As an owner or stakeholder in a website, you must take the time to discover content, evaluate that content, and implement a link to it on a webpage. Having a few 404 errors will not ruin your rankings completely, but they can lower your user experience, which ultimately can affect your SEO performance. Most SEO consults cover a local area. Google only show sitelinks for results when they think they’ll be useful to the user. If the structure of your site doesn’t allow Google's algorithms to find good sitelinks, or they don’t think that the sitelinks for your site are relevant for the user’s query, Google won’t show them. You have to structure your text, make your content digestible by using sections and use simple sentences to make it easier to read and understand.

Linking to popular or recent posts

Do your maths - its one of the primary resources for this sort of thing. Its as simple as KS2 Maths. Really! SEO does take time, money and effort. The fears that SEO is too complicated, technical, gimmicky and involve possible penalties are common misconceptions people new to SEO have. Once you learn more about SEO yourself, you’ll become more comfortable and confident to implement your own strategy or work closely with an agency. The bottom line is that if you’re focusing on a small group of generic keywords, you’re probably not being found by most of the people who are searching for you. I highly recommend starting off with building out resources their target audience would care about, want to share on social media, and want to link to. Building links is hard. Google scrutinizes website backlink profiles more closely than ever, and it’s extremely important to operate within their guidelines lest your site gets penalized and you lose all of your traffic.

Auditing Existing Content

Information Architecture allows people and search engines to better understand the content structure on a site. Whenever doing a website redesign, I think it’s so important to reassess the purpose of each page. If you don’t learn anything from the page, neither will your viewers! Building out a navigation map that takes SEO into consideration will save you a lot of heartache throughout your project! Does this really matter? I would say yes. A good link profile is not just backlinks. Stated another way, backlinks are just one component of the link profile. There is a deeper complexity to the backlink discussion. Ranking in the search engines can be hard. Especially if the competition in your niche is high. As you probably know, you should start with doing your keyword research: getting inside the heads of your audience, knowing exactly what words they use and what they are searching for. But then what?

Off-site SEO focuses on any aspect of search optimization that isn't part of your own site. In other words, off-site SEO is the discipline of building backlinks through social networks and other media. As long as you provide products and/or services at a physical address or to a physical address, and that address is registered, you can set up a Google Places accounts. By telling Google this, you can be listed in the Google Places section of the search results. More and more customers are looking for a local supplier, so getting this right is a must if you want to be successful within your location. There are far more unique search queries than generic ones. If you added up the search engine traffic of the most popular keywords, the number would not even come close to the amount of unique, niche keywords. This concept is known as “long-tail theory”. Linking out is huge. Don't be a link hoard; you're going to create content, so use it to gain favor with other people. I'll go more into depth below with specific tactics on linking out, but in general, you only have something to gain when you’re linking out. On average, the higher up page 1 the result is, the greater the number of linking domains that the webpage has.
